Emily kicking open a door. Emily kicking open a door.

Emily (she/her) is a photographer, videographer, writer, and social media personality from Chicago. She is also the sole designer and programmer of this website. Her work explores postindustrial American cities, urban design, technological and societal obsolescence, forgotten places and histories, and marginalized communities. Her highly researched-based practice often results in massive, sprawling multimedia collections such as the road-trip-turned-website Erie Route Nine or the photo collection and comic book The Trans Catalog of Chicago. She is currenly in the middle of her massive new project Journey to Nothingness, which aims to dissect the mythos of the American West through thorough research and documentation of its landscapes, histories, cities, and communities. On social media and on the ground, Emily is a prolific advocate for public transit, housing, and other urbanist policies.

Emily recieved her BFA in Studio Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2026. She currently works out of both Chicago and New York City. Her video work was most recently screened at the 2026 Ox-Bow Student Film Fest in Saugatuck, Michigan, and her new photo work will appear in an upcoming edition of Yarnbomb Magazine.
